Ex-NFL CB Vontae Davis Found Dead At 35

The NFL community was hit with tragic news on Monday.

Former NFL cornerback Vontae Davis was found dead at a home belonging to his grandmother in Southwest Ranches (FL.), according to multiple sources.

Vontae is the younger brother of former NFL tight end Vernon Davis.

Vontae Davis passed away at the age of 35; no cause of death has been confirmed. No foul play was suspected in Davis' death. An investigation has been launched.

Davis played in the NFL for 10 seasons, landing with the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills.

The Dolphins released a statement on Davis' passing on Monday.

"We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of former Dolphins CB Vontae Davis and extend our deepest condolences to his family & loved ones during this difficult time," Miami's statement read.

Davis suffered some off-the-field incidents such as a DUI arrest in 2023 where the CB was found on the side of the road, asleep next to his wrecked vehicle.

The Davie Police Department released a statement: "This morning, Davie Police Officers responded to 6051 SW 178th Avenue in reference to a medical call. Officers were called to the residence by the house assistant, who found the homeowner deceased.

"We can confirm that the deceased individual is Vontae Davis age 35. Preliminary information suggests that foul play is not involved. The investigation remains active."

The NFL also commented on Davis' tragic passing.

"The NFL is heartbroken to hear about the passing of Vontae Davis. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones."

Rest in Peace.
