Eminem Teams With Roger Goodell For NFL Draft Promo And It Includes Jokes About 'The D'

After Taylor Swift generated a reported $331.5 million in brand value for the NFL last season, the league is looking to yet another music superstar to help draw attention to the upcoming draft.

In a video posted Friday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell teamed up with Eminem to preview next week's event in Detroit. Raised in the Motor City, the 15-time GRAMMY-winning rapper is the perfect man for the job.

"We are so fired up this year for the NFL draft," Eminem says at the start of the video.

"Live from the D," Goodell says with an enthusiastic fist pump.

Eminem looks slightly uncomfortable: "You could just say Detroit."

Proof that d-ck jokes are funny — no matter how old you are.

Eminem is a Detroit Lions super fan, and he became sort of an unofficial mascot for the team during its historic playoff run last season. During the NFC Conference Game against the San Francisco 49ers, Em got into it with the home fans at Levis Stadium. A video captured at the game saw the rap superstar flipping the bird to the Niners' crowd.

And this draft video is not his first time cutting a promo for the NFL.

Ahead of the Lions NFC Wild Card match-up with the Los Angeles Rams in January, Eminem appeared in a video for NBC's Sunday Night Football, where he begged Rams QB Matthew Stafford to let the Lions win.

"Stafford, what'd I say? You owe me this favor bro," he begged. "I was there for you when you won it. I was right there. I rapped for you, Stafford! Bro, I rapped for you!"

The 2024 NFL Draft kicks off Thursday, April 25 in downtown Detroit. And don't be surprised if Eminem himself makes an appearance.
