New College Football Video Game Makes First Big Mistake

College football fans already have their first disappointing news about the new video game.

EA Sports' "College Football 25" is expected to hit shelves in July, and overall, fans and gamers couldn't be more excited. It will be the first video game to be released in more than a decade.

As I've said before, I'm literally buying a PS5 just to play this one game. The group chat with the guys has been on fire about the game.

Thousands of players have already opted in to be featured, every single FBS school will be in the game and excitement is off the charts.

However, there's also been the first disappointing news about "College Football 25."

FCS teams won't be in new college football video game.

One of the big questions going into the game was whether or not FCS teams would be featured in the game. The most recent edition of the game had generic FCS teams, but the older version actually had the real ones. Taking an FCS team and turning them into a powerhouse was one of the best parts.

Well, it's not going to happen in "College Football 25" because there are no FCS teams in the game, according to ESPN.

That means taking a team like Montana State from being a Big Sky team to being a Big Ten or SEC power (have to move conferences, of course) just isn't going to happen.

Yeah, I'm not happy about it, and I'm sure millions of fans feel the same way. It's the first disappointing news about the game.

The game still should be awesome.

While there won't be FCS teams in "College Football 25," there's still plenty to be excited about. The game features every FBS team, conference customization will be available, NIL will exist, every team will have a unique playbook and "College Football 25" will feature realistic sounds and stadiums, according to the same ESPN report.

So, while not having any FCS teams is certainly disappointing, there's still a lot to be amped up about. Trust me, no FCS teams isn't going to slow me down one bit when it comes to buying the game.

Hopefully, the future versions include FCS teams because I'd love to turn Montana State into an Alabama style dynasty. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
