Duke Ruthlessly Roasted On Social Media After Shocking ACC Tournament Loss

Social media is on fire following Duke falling early in the ACC Tournament.

There are few things that get college basketball fans fired up more than watching Duke lose in March. People pop bottles online to celebrate. It's a tradition as old as the internet itself, and it was on full display Thursday night.

The Blue Devils entered the ACC Tournament as the two seed, and fans were hoping to see UNC and the Blue Devils play in the title game.

North Carolina State had other plans.

Social media drags Duke after North Carolina State loss.

The Wolfpack pulled off a stunning 74-69 victory to send Duke packing after the team's first game of the conference tournament. Did the internet choose to ignore it and move on?

Nope. People got their knives out and feasted on the pain of the Blue Devils. Check out some of the best reactions below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

This is the kind of energy and passion that college basketball fans get excited about. Duke thought it was a lock to advance to the end of the ACC Tournament.

Unfortunately for the Blue Devils, they didn't show up to play in their first game. So sad. Such a tough pill to swallow.

I will admit I also enjoy watching Duke get their heart ripped out. I do like their fans because they're so committed to the cause, but let's not pretend like the Blue Devils didn't steal a national title from my Wisconsin Badgers. Justise Winslow touched the ball and we all know it.

Best of luck to Duke the rest of the way. If Thursday night was a sign of things to come, they're definitely going to need it. Let me know what you think about the Blue Devils at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
