Drake Maye Throws 65-Yard Bombs During Pro Day, Makes It Look Incredibly Easy

Drake Maye was letting it fly during his pro day Thursday.

The former UNC Tar Heels QB is expected to be one of the first QBs off the board in the NFL Draft in April, and it's possible he could go as high as second overall.

He put up video game stats at UNC without elite talent surrounding him. The young man is definitely a great prospect, and he was putting his arm talent on display for scouts and coaches Thursday with several bombs.

Drake Maye fires deep passes with ease.

Maye was firing off deep balls with the flick of a wrist like it was absolutely nothing to him. That included multiple 65-yard passes that sailed down the field with the accuracy of a rifle.

Check out some of his pro day footage below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

I was high on Drake Maye long before it was popular. Everyone likes talking about him now, but it was obvious as soon as he won the QB1 role in Raleigh that the young man was on a different level.

He has a great arm, impressive accuracy, makes very quick reads and is very athletic. That last part might surprise some people, but it's true.

He's not a run first QB, but when he tucks it and takes off, he's a menace for defenses to stop. He had 16 rushing touchdowns in his two years as the start for the Tar Heels and rushed for a total of 1,209 yards.

However, it's his arm that has scouts and coaches so intrigued, and as he showed Thursday, he has an absolute cannon.

Maye will be one of the first QBs picked in the draft, and one team is going to land a hell of a young player. Let me know what team you think should draft him at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
