Doc Rivers Calls Out Bucks Players As His Start In Milwaukee Hits Nightmare Status After Loss To Grizzlies

The Milwaukee Bucks stunned the NBA when they fired head coach Adrian Griffin in January despite having a record of 30-13 at the time. The franchise tapped Doc Rivers to come in and take things to a new standard, but the only thing Rivers has managed to do is lose basketball games.

While things have been trending in the wrong direction since Rivers' arrival, they're officially spiraling out of control following Milwaukee's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.

The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Jaren Jackson Jr. on Thursday, most casual fans wouldn't recognize a single player in Memphis' starting lineup, yet somehow they managed to beat a fully loaded Bucks team 113-110.

Instead of looking in the mirror himself after falling to 3-7 as the Bucks' head coach, Rivers turned it around and pointed it at his players.

"First play of the game, we gamble for the 50th time int he corner. Guy drives, we have to help, leads to a three," Rivers said after the game. "On our set, two guys forget what we're running. Then we missed a shot and nobody gets back. That's how we start out the third quarter. That tells you all you need to know about where our heads were."

"We had some guys here, we had some guys in Cabo."

Thursday's game was Milwaukee's last before the All-Star break, and Rivers made it clear that he felt his guys were already checked out by lightly throwing them under the bus.

While it's entirely understandable for the Bucks to need some time to gel under Rivers, 10 games seem like enough to start figuring things out, and it's accurate to say that things are unwell in Milwaukee at the moment. There is no excuse for the Bucks to lose to a Grizzlies team made up of players on 10-day deals and two-way contracts.
