The Craziest Hockey Fight Of The Year Happened In An Arizona State Game: VIDEO

The craziest hockey fight of the year took place in a game most people probably didn't even know happened.

Alaska-Fairbanks and Arizona State played this past Friday night, and the game featured an absolutely insane fight between ASU player Tucker Ness and Nanooks defenseman Dawson Bruneski.

College hockey isn't like the NHL, AHL or some beer league where fighting, while penalized, is accepted as part of the game. Players can face serious consequences and suspensions for throwing punches in games.

Well, Ness and Bruneski didn't get the memo.

Unreal fight unfolds during Alaska-Fairbanks/Arizona State game.

Ness hopped out of the penalty box, charged Bruneski, and it was off to the races from there. The duo started throwing bombs and there was little the refs could do to stop them.

Watch the incredible fight below, and hit me with your reactions at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

It's going to be very hard for a fight to top this one. I don't care if it's the NHL, the AHL, a game overseas or your local rec league.

That fight was the kind of hockey fight fans might see once every few years. Those two weren't just cutting it up. They were trying to pulverize each other.

The refs attempted to do something…….and it made absolutely no impact. Both got back up and started throwing haymakers as soon as they got rid of the ref.

Savor it, fans. Savor moments like these. Fighting is becoming rarer and rarer in hockey, but these two did everything possible to keep it alive. This is what fans love to see. Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com if you agree.
