Noted Curse-Bringer Drake Has Placed His Super Bowl Bet, And It Will Make 49ers Fans Very Happy

No one can curse a team quite like Drake. Sure, the Canadian-born rapper has had his fair share of gambling wins and can afford to throw down seven-figure bets, but he has also been known to inadvertently curse any team he bets on or supports.

That's why, for me, Drake announcing his Super Bowl bet is the sports world's version of Groundhog's Day (the day, not the movie).

Whatever Drake chooses, it will give you some idea of what may be to come.

Drake announced on Instagram that he bet a wallet-hurting $1.115 million (I'm going to assume that was Canadian dollars; whole lotta loonies) on the Kansas City Chiefs.

He shared his bet slip from sportsbook Stake to Instagram for posterity's sake.

"I can't bet against the Swifties," Drake wrote.

That's always a responsible way to bet…

Of course, this bet caught a lot of attention because of Drake's history of losing. In the NBA Playoffs last year, he sank both the Lakers and Heat.

My favorite loss was when he bet hundreds of thousands on Ferrari's Charles Leclerc to win the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix.

How'd that one end? Leclerc's engine crapped out while he was in the lead.

Again, I'm not sure the most responsible way to bet is to simply fade whatever it is Drake does. However, I'd feel a little more confident betting on the Niners in this instance.

We'll see on Sunday how this pans out. Will the Chiefs prove to be unfazed by the infamous Drake curse or will they become its next victim?

I'll tell you who just avoided getting blamed if the Chiefs lose: Taylor Swift.

If the Chiefs can't get the job done, angry fans will ignore her and go straight to Drake.
