Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Sues Woman Following Alleged Extortion Attempt

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is suing a woman for crafting an alleged scheme to extort the NFLer for money by accusing Prescott of sexual assault.

Prescott seeks $100 million from Victoria Baileigh Shores and her lawyers as part of the lawsuit filed in Collin County, Texas., according to USA TODAY Sports.  Multiple outlets confirmed that Prescott vehemently denied the allegations. According to Prescott's legal team, the Cowboys QB received correspondence on Feb. 13 regarding the alleged sexual assault and threatening to move forward with their lawsuit unless Prescott agreed to pay $100 million.

The woman's testimony of her encounter with Prescott dates back to 2017. The lawsuit details: "At the time of the alleged assault, Mr. Prescott was single, and in fact, the timeline of events and Defendant Shores’s actions in the seven years since the alleged assault are consistent with being involved with only consensual actions with Mr. Prescott."

Prescott's lawyer, Levi McCathern, released a statement announcing that Prescott never "engaged in any non-consensual, sexual conduct with anyone."

"Recently, Mr. Prescott found himself the subject of an extortion plot," McCathern's statement read.

"The Defendant and her legal team have threatened to go public with a completely fabricated story of sexual assault from nearly a decade ago, and demanded that Mr. Prescott immediately pay $100 Million in exchange for her not pressing false charges with the authorities.

"Mr. Prescott — a new father to a baby girl — has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault. He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any non-consensual, sexual conduct with anyone. Lies hurt. Especially, malicious lies. We will not allow the Defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions from Mr. Prescott."

Prescott and the Cowboys enter the QB's final year of his four-year, $160 million deal.

Based on the QB market, Prescott is expected to net a new deal worth more than $50 million per season, unless the Cowboys decide to split with the 30-year-old signal-caller.
