College of Charleston Trying To Get Auburn Fans To Show Up And Root Against Alabama

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" has been said for a long, long time and the College of Charleston Cougars are putting it into practice for the NCAA Tournament.

The Cougars are the No.13 seed in the tournament's West region and will face the No. 4 seeded Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday in Spokane, Washington.

That's a long way from both Charleston and Tuscaloosa, but of course, the College of Charleston has just under 10,000 students while Alabama has that several times over.

Plus, with all due respect to the Cougars, Alabama simply has a bigger brand on the national stage.

So, then what are the Cougars supposed to do to make themselves feel a little more at home against the Crimson Tide.

If only there were people who just happen to be in Spokane and also hate Alabama with a burning passion…

…well, they're in luck because there are.

Alabama's greatest nemesis, Auburn University, just so happens to play their first game of the tournament in Spokane as well. Auburn is the No. 4 seed in the tournament's East region and will take on No.13 seed Yale earlier in the day.

So, some like the voice of College of Charleston men's basketball are asking Auburn fans to stick around and serve as reinforcements to root for the Cougars… or perhaps more accurately, against Alabama.

This is a great idea.

I mean, how often do you luck out and have the arch-nemesis of the team you are playing just so happen to be in town too?

I'm sure College of Charleston will get plenty of takers as far as this offer is concerned. I don't think it will take too much coaxing to get Auburn fans to show up and give Alabama some grief.
