Masters Rookie Christo Lamprecht Likely Running On No Sleep Due To Being Six-Foot-Eight In The Crow's Nest

Each year, Augusta National welcomes some of the top amateur players in golf to not only compete in the Masters, but stay on property in the legendary Crow's Nest located inside the clubhouse itself. Christo Lamprecht is one of the amateurs taking full advantage of the once in a lifetime opportunity during the 2024 Masters, but it's safe to say he isn't comfortable doing so.

The 23-year-old from South Africa is 6-foot-8, which isn't all that great given that the entire Crow's Nest only measures just 30 by 40 feet. The Masters' official website even notes that "anyone over maybe 5-foot-5 might want to duck when stepping into the stand-up shower."

As for the bed Lamprecht gets to attempt to sleep in, it's not as tiny as one may have guessed. A behind-the-scenes look at the Crow's Nest experience shows Lamprecht lay down in the bed, and only his feet hang off of the end. There is also a clip of him attempting to fit in the shower, and let's just say it's a good thing golfers get to wear hats because it may be impossible for him to get his hair wet this week.

Lamprecht, a senior at Georgia Tech, qualified for this year's Masters by winning The Amateur Championship in June 2023 with a 3&2 victory over Switzerland's Ronan Kleu at Hillside Golf Club in England. Past champions of the event include Bobby Jones, Sergio Garcia, and Jose Maria Olazabal. He made waves during the 2023 Open Championship after firing a 66 in the opening round of the major before taking home low amateur honors.

Lamprecht isn't the only tall amateur in the field of the 2024 Masters. Stewart Hagestad, who is playing in his third Masters, is 6-foot-5 and is scheduled to squeeze into the Crow's Nest on Sunday night.
