Christian McCaffrey Says He Nixed Olivia Culpo Buying Super Bowl Suite

Everyone knows how expensive tickets, especially suites, are for the Super Bowl, and apparently, costs are a concern even for some of the wealthiest people around the game.

A few weeks ago, San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey's mom Lisa revealed on a podcast interview that she couldn't afford to get a suite at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for Sunday's game. But McCaffrey's fiancee Olivia Culpo responded publicly, saying she'd take care of buying a suite for Lisa's birthday, even with the exorbitant associated costs.

Turns out, McCaffrey swooped in and altered the plans just a bit.

McCaffrey Shuts Down Olivia Culpo's Super Bowl Suite Efforts

McCaffrey spoke to Extra during a Super Bowl week event, revealing that he shut down Culpo's efforts to buy the suite.

"She tried to but I will not let anybody pay to watch me play. I had to nix that," he said. What McCaffrey didn't say was whether he paid for the suite himself, or if he nixed the idea entirely. Lisa McCaffrey had previously said she'd been able to secure a reserved area with around eight tickets to get into the stadium. But obviously, a suite would be much more preferable.

Even if it costs an estimated $2 million.

Christian spoke highly of his fiancee during Super Bowl week media appearances, describing how many sacrifices Culpo's had to make.

"She’s sacrificed so much," McCaffrey said according to People. "And I think all the wives do — but it’s tough, especially in season. A lot of late nights, a lot of time at the facilities."

"She obviously is so successful in the world right now in her career, and to see her support me the way she does, it means the world to me … and hopefully I can return the favor."

One way to return the favor is covering the absurd cost of buying a suite at the Super Bowl. Although you have to wonder; how would McCaffrey, Culpo and his family feel if he loses the Super Bowl AND had to shell out potentially millions of dollars in the process?
