Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields Unfollows Team With Major Decision Looming Ahead of NFL Draft

Bears nation, time to panic? Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields unfollowed his team on Instagram, prompting a discussion on President's Day over whether Fields is part of their blueprint moving forward.

Fields' call to action coincides with reports that Chicago has their plan in place for quarterback, teetering between keeping their starter in Fields or selecting a QB with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which by most projections is USC QB Caleb Williams.

Yikes.

While nothing is set in stone, Fields knows something that fans don't.

Despite reaching career highs in yards thrown (2,562) and completion percentage (61.4), Fields failed to convince Chicago of his status as a bona fide franchise starter. Fields added 642 rushing yards and four TDs on the ground (20 total).

Getting rid of offensive coordinator Luke Getsy was the first positive step toward rebuilding Chicago's offense; now all eyes turn to who's taking snaps under center in 2024.

"I’m a supporter of Justin because I got a chance to work with him when I was commissioner of the Big Ten conference," Bears president Kevin Warren previously shared regarding his current QB.

"Justin has a rare combination of intelligence, of size, of strength and speed. You forget how big of a man he is until you’re up on him. He’s not a small man. I just think every year he’s going to continually get better."

(Will the Bears opt to stick with Fields? Or will they go in a new direction with Caleb Williams as their starter in 2024? Send us your best predictions: alejandro.avila@outkick.com.)
