Charles Barkley Rips Skip Bayless: 'Let Me Tell You How Stupid Some Of These Guys Are On Television'

Charles Barkley has never been shy about his disdain for Skip Bayless. And on Friday's episode of the Dan Patrick Show, the NBA Hall of Famer threw some more fuel on the fire.

"We've got so many idiots, fools and jackasses on television now," Barkley vented. "Everybody has to have a hot take."

Chuck is referring to sports media's desire to measure up Patrick Mahomes against Tom Brady or Andy Reid with Bill Belichick. But namely, the "jackass" in question is Bayless.

"Let me tell you how stupid some of these guys are on television," Barkley said. "You know how much I hate Skip Bayless. I hate him with every fiber. Sometimes he makes me want to gain weight back so I can hate him with even more weight."

Barkley cited a recent hot take from Bayless, where the Undisputed host claimed Brady — not Belichick — deserves all of the credit for the New England Patriots' 20-year dynasty and labeled Bill Belichick a "glorified defensive coordinator."

"For some reason, people want to take shots at Bill," Barkley continued. "It ain’t right. When you get on television, our job is to be fair and objective. And we got some clowns on television now who are like, ‘Belichick is overrated.’ Dude went to nine Super Bowls. There’s nobody who went to nine Super Bowls who’s overrated."

Belichick has 12 Super Bowl appearances as a coach — nine as a head coach. Both are NFL records.

Charles Barkley Torches Skip Bayless

Friday's rant is hardly the first time Sir Charles has taken aim at Skip Bayless. In fact, their ongoing feud is well documented.

He called Bayless a "punk-a–" in 2021, someone who "cherry-picks the guys he likes and the guys he don’t like."

Barkley has also poked fun at the FS1 host multiple times on the NBA on TNT set, including once in 2022 when Barkley and Shaq mocked a debate that escalated between Bayless and former co-host Shannon Sharpe.

Then, Bayless responded in July by calling Barkley a "clown" and saying on his podcast that he’d love for the NBA legend to replace Sharpe on Undisputed — since "all I’d have to do is let Charles go first and listen to him make a fool out of himself."

The hatred runs so deep, in fact, Dan Patrick asked Barkley why he still watches Skip's shows if they infuriate him so much. Barkley claimed that he doesn’t watch — and that people just send him clips of the "hot takes."
