Charles Barkley And Kenny Smith Can't Stand 'Name The Mascot' Game: 'Worst Game Ever'

Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley have found their new least favorite game.

During a studio break during last night’s March Madness coverage, the TNT crew decided to play a game called "Name the Mascot," hosted by Ernie Johnson Jr. The game was pretty self-explanatory; Clark Kellogg showed them a picture of a mascot of a team in the tournament, and Smith and Barkley had to guess it. They got bonus points if they could state the name of the mascot.

Under most circumstances, this game would certainly get competitive. But with these two guessing the mascots, it was competitive and comical.

Things started off fairly normally, with Barkley identifying the Michigan State mascot and providing the name ("Sparty"). Then, the wheels came off the whole discussion.

Kellogg held up the Oakland Golden Grizzlies mascot. But

"That’s not a bear," Smith said.

"That’s a bear," Barkley replied. "What the hell do you think it is?"

"That looks like a cub,’ Smith fired back.

A chuckling Barkley replied, "You know a cub is a bear, right?"

After an obvious hint, Barkley then guessed "The Oakland Bears." That was half right, and Johnson and Kellogg moved on at that point.

Smith And Barkley Hilariously Roasted Each Other As The Game Progressed

More good-natured bickering ensued after that, with Smith finding a way to roast NC State (he’s a UNC alumni) and Barkley somehow guessing that one mascot belonged to Seton Hall (Smith reminded him they weren’t even in the tournament). The whole interaction had the feel of two siblings more concerned about roasting each other during a game than actually winning it, which prompted Johnson to jokingly quip if it was okay to leave.

Finally, the last slide came, and Smith correctly guessed the mascot belonged to the Grand Canyon Antelopes. But neither of the contestants guessed the correct name (Thunder); Smith said "Ante," while Barkley answered "Lope." Neither said Thunder, the correct guess.

As the crew wrapped up the game (all while chuckling), Barkley said "This is the worst game ever. This is the worst game ever, America." While it may have been rough for those two to play, the rest of the country certainly enjoyed it.
