Police are searching for Rashee Rice after his car was involved in a major accident Saturday night in northeast Dallas.

The car — registered or leased to the Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver — was involved in a crash on the North Central Expressway at about 6:20 p.m., according to The Dallas Morning News. Law enforcement officials are now searching for Rice in connection with the accident.

Police have not disclosed details of the accident or whether anyone was injured, according to the report. As of Sunday morning, it was not clear whether Rice is facing charges, and his level of involvement in the accident also is unclear. Rice did not appear in Dallas County jail record as of 7 a.m. ET on Sunday.

But according to a local news broadcast, multiple cars were involved in the accident — backing up traffic for several hours. At least one person was hospitalized.

Rice grew up in the Fort Worth suburb of North Richland Hills, Texas, and played all four years of his college career in Dallas at SMU before being drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The 23-year-old had an impressive rookie season, finishing second on the team in receptions (79) and receiving yards (938) — behind only Travis Kelce. Rice had a team-leading seven touchdown catches. He also had 26 catches for 262 yards and a touchdown during the Chiefs' postseason run en route to their second-straight Super Bowl win.

This is a developing story.
