Cam Smith Reportedly Signs With LIV Golf For Over $100 Million, Offers 'No Comment' When Asked About It

Cam Smith, currently the No. 2 player in the world, will reportedly join LIV Golf after signing a deal north of $100 million.

According to The Telegraph's James Corrigan, Smith was offered around $100 million prior to The Open, which the Aussie went on to win.

The report also explains that Smith is set to tee it up in the next LIV Golf event, which will be held in Boston from Sept. 2-4.

Smith was asked about the report during his press conference on Tuesday afternoon ahead of this week's first FedEx Cup Playoff event in Memphis.

"My goal here is to win the FedEx Cup playoffs, that's all I'm here for, I have no comment on that," Smith said.









Rumors Swirling


This report of Smith already signing with LIV Golf comes just hours after PGA Tour pro Cam Percy told Australian radio that both Smith and fellow Aussie Marc Leishman would be joining the Tour's rival circuit.

The rumors surrounding Smith to LIV Golf have been swirling for weeks.

Less than 24 hours after Smith dominated the back nine at St. Andrews, he was pressed by the media to address the rumors and speculation. The question made him frustrated, but by no means did he shut down the idea that he may be the next golfer to make the move.

“I just won the British Open, and you’re asking about that. I think that’s pretty not that good,” Smith said after hoisting the Claret Jug. “I don’t know, mate. My team around me worries about all that stuff. I’m here to win golf tournaments.”

The PGA Tour possibly losing one of the best players in the world and the defending Players champion to LIV Golf would be the biggest blow for the Tour yet.
