Caitlin Clark Memorabilia Market Is At Stake In Final Four, Ken Goldin Predicts

If you're invested in Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark memorabilia, tonight's Final Four showdown with Connecticut is a huge moment for your portfolio, according to Ken Goldin, who knows the collectibles market.

In an interview this week with OutKick, Goldin predicted Clark's memorabilia market would stay hot – if Iowa wins in Cleveland. "The interest in her cards and memorabilia is certainly at an all-time high right now. It's currently unprecedented territory for any prior female athlete at any point in time," Goldin explained ahead of the Final Four.

What's at stake against Geno Auriemma's powerhouse program?

"If she manages to win the NCAA Championship this year, you can expect her memorabilia to be at a peak and heightened level [for the foreseeable future]. However, if she's knocked out in the Final Four or loses in the championship, I believe you will definitely start to see the prices to fall," Goldin continued.

Goldin's sentiments could be a larger concern that some brands, and the WNBA, have to be privately thinking but won't say it aloud.

As I previously wrote, one of the biggest questions regarding Clark is if the audience will follow her. She's been able to bring in record ratings for women's basketball. She is consistently the most Googled athlete in Google Trends. Her jersey's been No. 1 on Fanatics in recent weeks. But will the audience, both diehard and casual fans, continue to follow her when she goes to the WNBA?

Goldin says it's typical for women's college basketball players to have their buzz die down when they enter the WNBA, where for men it's the reverse and the star becomes more popular in the NBA.

CLARK'S MEMORABILIA IS AT AN ALL-TIME HIGH

As far as herself goes, Caitlin Clark will be just fine. Even if the WNBA contract only pays $330,000 for her first four years. Where Clark's value comes in are with the various NIL deals she's been able to reign in - including ones with Nike and Gatorade to total an estimated $3.1 million so far.

As for those holding onto her brand new trading cards or autographed memorabilia? Well, here's to hoping she wins tonight against UConn and then against the winner of (3) NC State vs (1) South Carolina.
