Congresswoman From Iowa Showers Caitlin Clark With Praise, Offers Game Prediction

Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks is a big fan of Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Clark and the Hawkeyes will take the court tonight against the UConn Huskies to fight for the right to play in the national title game. The stakes are sky-high, and hype is off the charts.

This might be the most-anticipated women's Final Four game on record. Clark vs. Paige Bueckers. What more could fans ever want?

Well, it turns out the Congresswoman responsible for covering the University of Iowa is also fired up to see what Clark does tonight.

Caitlin Clark praised by Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

Iowa fans are chomping at the bit to watch the game start tonight and Clark, hopefully, put on another show. The Congresswoman from the Hawkeye State is definitely not an exception. She spoke with OutKick about Clark and the Hawkeyes, and there's no doubt she thinks the phenom guard is special - on and off the court.

"As the University of Iowa’s representative in Congress, I am proud to be here in person to cheer on Coach Bluder, Caitlin Clark and the team in their Final Four match-up against the UConn Huskies. After passing Pete Maravich’s career record of 3,667 points, Caitlin Clark is one of college basketball’s greatest players! She and the team are an inspiration for young girls (and even boys) in Iowa and around the nation," Congresswoman said in an exclusive statement given to me Friday afternoon.

She also spoke out how Clark uses her massive platform to serve as an exceptional role model and inspiration for people looking to go far in life.

"If a girl from America’s heartland can make it, anyone can. Because of her success, the University of Iowa has sold out every home game and most away games. David – as you reported, prices for women’s Final Four tickets are through the roof because of Caitlin and interest in women’s basketball has skyrocketed. Despite her superstar status, Caitlin Clark takes time to sign autographs and thank her fans. What a class act," the Congresswoman further explained.

Naturally, I had to ask for a prediction for the matchup against UConn. Congressman Miller-Mieeks is riding high with the Hawkeyes in what she expects to be a nailbiter to the wire.

"My prediction is it will be close but Iowa triumphs (barring the refs). Iowa 77-UConn 74. Can’t wait to see them win it all. GO HAWKS," she concluded.

Now, Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks, the rest of the state of Iowa and fans are the country batten down the hatches for what should be a dogfight. Let me know your predictions at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
