Caitlin Clark Isn't Focused On Big3 Offer Even Though Most Of Us Probably Would

Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark has her hands full right now, what with the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, but there's also the big question of what she'll do when her college hoops days are behind her.

Will she go the traditional WNBA route, or do something non-traditional and be rolling in sweet, sweet cash?

Clark got an offer to play 10 games for Ice Cube's Big3 three-on-three basketball league that would net her a cool $5 million.

That's… divide by the number of games, carry the 1… simplify… $500,000 per game.

According to ESPN, Clark says the offer isn't really at the forefront of her mind right now. She also revealed that she learned about it at the same time all of us — who aren't star basketball players — heard about it.

"I found out about the Big3 thing the same exact time you all did," Clark said. "I honestly don't talk about those things with really anybody. I have other people that deal with it, and they haven't said a word to me about it. My main focus is on this team and helping us find a way to beat Colorado and hopefully win another one after that."

This is why Caitlin Clark is a high-level college athlete and you and I are not (well, at least, I'm not, I don't know about you).

If there was an offer on the table for me to make $5 million playing 10 games of 3-on-3 against washed-up NBA players not only would I not be able to focus on the task at hand, I wouldn't be able to sleep.

Forget the NCAA tournament, I'd be busy picking out which jet ski I wanted to buy.

But not Caitlin Clark. Jetski shopping can wait.

According to Ice Cube, he and Big3 always intended to keep their offer to Clark under wraps, but after it was leaked online, he acknowledged that it was true.

"The skeptics laughed when we made Nancy Lieberman the first female coach of a men's pro team, and she won the championship in her first year. Then Lisa Leslie won it all in year two. With our offer, Caitlin Clark can make history and break down even more barriers for women athletes."

It'll be interesting to see which option she goes with (give me the 10 games against washed-up NBA players all day). However, right now, Clark is focused on the Iowa Hawkweyes' date with the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon in a Sweet 16 matchup.
