Bronny James Could Reportedly Enter Transfer Portal After Rocky Year In LA

Here comes another Decision for the James family.

Bronny James, son of the one and only LeBron, could enter the transfer portal after one season at USC, as first reported by the NY Daily News' Dick Weiss. He reported that Bronny would be entering the portal, but later deleted and retracted the post explaining that he couldn't confirm the news.

In 25 games (six starts) last season for the Trojans, James averaged a lackluster 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

We say lackluster based on the monumental expectations brought on by being the son of LeBron James, as well as due to the hype stirred up around his son by The King himself.

At one point last year, LeBron said his son was good enough for the Lakers …, but then he backtracked.

Bronny James is considering departing USC right as 11-year Trojans head coach Andy Enfield leaves for the SMU Mustangs.

James started the year with health complications, suffering cardiac arrest in July 2023 during an offseason workout at Galen Center. Bronny rebounded from his complications swiftly, missing only eight games before making his season debut against Long Beach State.

The mania surrounding Bronny's next destination begins …

Most expectations for Bronny's sophomore year included declaring for the NBA Draft. Despite joining the college game as a high-level recruit, James' draft stock took a tumble from his rocky year in Los Angeles.

LeBron's plan for Bronny is to get him to the pros and eventually play with his 19-year-old son. The 39-year-old will hold out on retirement until Bronny successfully transitions to the NBA.
