Brandon Aiyuk Doesn't Sound Optimistic About A New Deal With Niners

One major item on the San Francisco 49ers' offseason to-do list continues to nag at the organization

Former first-round wideout Brandon Aiyuk awaits a new contract from Niners GM John Lynch.

Lynch commented on the current status of Aiyuk's extension talks. The general manager admitted to making little to no progress in negotiations, but sounded confident that Aiyuk, 26, will be in San Fran moving forward. He suggested that Aiyuk could comfortably play on the fifth-year tag, which the receiver likely disagrees with.

The GM said on Monday: "There’s a number of different directions that it could go, but we appreciate the heck out of Brandon and who he is as a player. We want him to be a part of the Niners, so we’re going to work towards making that a reality."

Aiyuk didn't sound as optimistic, posting an apparent disapproving reaction to Lynch's comments, via social media.

"Money talks, bull***t walks," the player communicated, in emojis.

Despite being viewed as a complementary piece to top-billed WR Deebo Samuel, Aiyuk's production over the past four seasons suggests he could soon usurp Samuel as the offense's primary receiving threat.

Last season, Aiyuk tallied 75 catches for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.

In case you're wondering which side  pass-catcher George Kittle followed up Aiyuk's post with another emoji-driven message for Lynch and the Niners front office to notice.

Throughout the season, Aiyuk's name appeared in trade speculation, with San Francisco seemingly expecting a first-round pick or a pick within that orbit to land the speedy receiver.
