OKC's Bismack Biyombo Gives Encouraging Update After Sudden Collapse

Good News.

NBA center Bismack Biyombo suffered a medical scare Wednesday night — collapsing near the team's bench during a timeout in Portland.

A day later, the Oklahoma City Thunder player delivered an update on his status after the frightening scene.

Playing against the Trail Blazers, OKC had an unexpected pause when Biyombo suddenly went down.

Teammates appeared shocked as Biyombo lost consciousness and fell back. The collapse was a rare scene to witness amid NBA action, but a common storyline among young healthy athletes nowadays.

Medical personnel from the Thunder and Blazers raced over to check on Biyombo, who walked to the locker room after waking up.

Thankfully, the NBAer appeared in good spirits after the scary scene. Biyombo posted a video update on Thursday, relaying details on the cause behind his collapse. The 31-year-old shared that his sudden tumble stemmed from dehydration, caused by a personal fasting diet.

"Feeling blessed & grateful for everyone's love & concern," Biyombo shared. "A big thank you to my teammates for their understanding. All good here, just a bit of dehydration, but ready for tomorrow's game! Fasting has been my spiritual journey for over 15 years, thankful for every lesson. #God"
