Bill Belichick, Ernie Adams Won't Talk 'SpyGate' In New Patriots Doc: 'To The Grave'

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick won't be disclosing new details about 'SpyGate' anytime soon. As part of AppleTV+'s "The Dynasty" documentary, chronicling the Pats' rise (and fall) in their 2000s to 2010s dynasty, Belichick joined the tell-all but remained tight-lipped over the controversy surrounding SpyGate.

In the series' fourth episode, ‘SpyGate,’ the documentary revisits New England's plight as the Patriots fought cheating allegations after 'stealing' signals from the New York Jets in 2007. When asked by documentarian Matthew Hamacheck about the SpyGate era of the Patriots dynasty, Belichick was not forthcoming with his responses ...

"Yeah, again, that’s all in the past. I’ve made my comments on that. I don’t have anything to add," Belichick said in the "Dynasty" episode, sporting a mean mug.

The rest of the documentary features numerous ex-New England personnel adamantly recalling the glory days in Foxborough. Meanwhile, Belichick and his former researcher, Ernie Adams, are holding details surrounding SpyGate "to the grave," as Adams shared in the episode.

"Just so you know, on this whole video thing – the Jets game in 2007 – I’m not going to reopen it," Adams shared during the recent episode.

Rather than highlight Bill as a curmudgeon, the documentary provides a clear look at the ‘team-first’ approach owner Robert Kraft saw in Belichick leading up to his hiring as Bill Parcells' successor. Toward the end of his tenure in New England, Parcells began drifting from prioritizing a ‘team-building’ approach, said Kraft.

"With Coach Parcells, I didn’t feel he always put the team first," Kraft shared in the documentary. "He was making decisions that were best for Bill Parcells, as opposed [to] for the New England Patriots. I promised myself that in the future, I would find a coach that truly put team first."

Whether it's to protect his image or his players, Belichick's staying mum on arguably the greatest controversy of his Hall of Fame career. Who can blame him …

New episodes of "The Dynasty" are released weekly on AppleTV+.
