Joe Biden Drops Major Gaffe In WNBA Champs' Trip To White House: Player Candace Parker Is GOAT 'Coach!'

U.S. President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris welcomed the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and head coach Becky Hammon to the White House on Thursday to celebrate back-to-back championships.

Every public event with Biden is essentially an alley-oop for Biden to drop a gaffe, and boy, did we get another one this time.

Biden, probably expecting to see Brittney Griner on Thursday, met the Aces team with Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and the prez gave a speech commemorating Aces champ Candace Parker for an illustrious 16-year WNBA career as she approaches retirement.

Biden shared his "fandom" for the women's league and encouraged Americans to tune in to games and support women's sports, despite the fact he evidently is OK with dudes wearing WNBA jerseys taking over women's hoops.

Rather than praising Parker as a player, the only role she's had in the WNBA, Biden flubbed the speech and glorified Parker as an all-time great WNBA "coach." Even for non-WNBA viewers, recognizing Candace Parker as a player isn't much of a challenge.

And for a guy whose platform banks on calling for women's sports to get their "fair shake," Biden's clearly not tuning into games himself.

Luckily for him, the 6-foot-4 Aces player wasn't in attendance to correct him.

As relayed by TMZ, Biden said, "While she couldn't be here. I want to acknowledge someone who we consider one of the greatest all-time coaches -- Candace Parker."

The Commander-in-Chief had an easy layup by honoring the Aces but missed badly.

Biden was gifted a No. 46 jersey in obvious tribute to former New York Knicks small forward Dennis Bell (or being the 46th president!).

Kamala Harris received a No. 49 jersey for a less cool reason: being the 49th U.S. vice president.

Candace Parker, cemented as a Lady Vols hoops legend and WNBA icon, won three WNBA titles, two Olympic gold medals, a WNBA Finals MVP, two league MVPs and was a seven-time All-Star …

Have Biden repeat all of that without a teleprompter.
