Baker Mayfield Caught On Hot Mic Revealing Career Plans

It sounds like Baker Mayfield plans on sticking with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mayfield injected his NFL career with new life with the Bucs after struggling to stick with multiple teams over the past couple years.

He threw for 4,044 yards, 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on a one-year deal with the franchise. He also led the Bucs to the NFC divisional round, where the team lost to the Lions.

Now, there's speculation he could score a massive deal from the Bucs, and it sounds like he definitely plans on sticking around.

Baker Mayfield hints at staying with the Buccaneers.

Mayfield and Steve Young were caught on a hot mic on the set of "Up & Adams" discussing his future plans. It sounds like the Bucs will definitely reach a deal with the team's QB1.

Give it a watch below, and let me know your reactions at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Good for Baker Mayfield. The man really struggled by the time he left the Browns, was run off the Panthers and didn't stick around after a short stint with the Rams.

He's been through some tough times in the NFL after being the first overall pick in 2018. The perception around him was that he was on a bullet train to being a bust.

While it's still debatable whether he's a bust, the idea that he can't be a solid starting QB appears to have been successfully erased.

He took a Bucs team to the playoffs, put up very respectable numbers and now might land a contract in the ballpark of $40 million annually.

A resurgent Baker Mayfield is here, and it sounds like he's riding it out with the Bucs moving forward. Is it a smart move? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
