Arrest Warrant Issued For Chiefs WR Rashee Rice After Hit-And-Run Collision

Kansas City Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice faces an arrest warrant issued for him for his involvement in a car crash in Dallas last month.

In the statement provided by the Dallas Police Department, Rice faces eight charges stemming from his collision, including six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving severe bodily injury and one count of aggravated assault.

The NFL player has a day to turn himself in.

On March 30, Rice was reportedly speeding down U.S. Highway 75 in Austin, Texas, while racing another vehicle in his Lamborghini before they collided and caused a multi-vehicle wreck. Four additional vehicles were involved in the incident.

The Corvette that Rice had been racing was also registered under his name. Theodore Knox, the man operating the Corvette, also faces eight charges as relayed by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

A video surfaced showing Rice and others involved fleeing the scene. Four people were injured as a result of the crash, with two motorists requiring medical attention as a result.

Further details on the scene noted that authorities discovered 10 grams of marijuana in Rice's abandoned Lamborghini left on the shoulder of the Expressway.

The second-year wideout released a statement apologizing for his involvement and for those who suffered injuries. According to Rice's legal team, the player had been ‘cooperating’ with authorities.

Rice could face stiff discipline from the league.
