Arkansas Reportedly Hiring Calipari Sets Social Media On Fire: REACTIONS

John Calipari reportedly gearing up to ditch Kentucky for Arkansas has set the internet on fire.

Pete Thamel shocked the college basketball world Sunday night when he reported that the Kentucky coach "is finalizing a five-year deal" to leave the Wildcats for the Razorbacks.

Arkansas has been on the hunt for a new coach since Eric Musselman left for USC. It appears the Razorbacks have their man, and fans are stunned.

Social media reacts to John Calipari reportedly leaving Kentucky for Arkansas.

There's no question Calipari was going to enter next season in Lexington on the hot seat, and that was enough to motivate him to find a new job.

It's absolutely shocking news, and people on X were in a state of shock. Check out some of the reactions below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Anyone who says the news of Calipari going to Arkansas isn't shocking is simply lying to you. He's reportedly leaving Kentucky for another SEC program, and a team that is far less prestigious than the Wildcats.

Things must have been really ugly behind closed doors. It was no secret fans threw the towel in on him after another disappointing NCAA Tournament exit.

He has just one tournament win over the past five years, and multiple losses to teams with a fraction of the talent. A change seemed inevitable.

However, Calipari leaving for Arkansas isn't something I think anyone saw coming. Are you not entertained? Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
