5'2" Tracy Wolfson Whipped Out A Step Ladder For Her Interview With 7'2" Donovan Clingan

Tracy Wolfson learned quickly that she needed to take extreme measures to prepare for the tall task of handling her Final Four postgame interviews - pun intended.

After the Purdue Boilermakers defeated the NC State Wolfpack 63-50 in the first Final Four matchup, Wolfson interviewed Purdue star Zach Edey for his thoughts on the win. The only problem with this interaction was Wolfson’s height (or lack thereof) compared to Edey’s.

Wolfson stands at 5’2", while Edey towers at 7’4". That height disparity created a hilarious angle for the camera work during the interview, with the reporter’s head barely squeezing into the frame.

The striking stature difference between player and reporter caused play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle to quip "Tracy, we just ordered you a ladder."

That wasn’t just a joke either. In between the first and second semifinals, the broadcast team made sure Wolfson was prepared.

After the UConn Huskies defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide 86-72 in the following game, Wolfson interviewed Huskies center Donovan Clingan - who is 7’2". But this time, the reporter came prepared.

Instead of standing on level ground, Wolfson somehow found a ladder and used it to interview the big man. She perfectly owned the height difference and nailed the interview.

She had better keep that ladder handy. Regardless of who wins Monday night’s title, she’ll likely have to interview another gargantuan figure.

Or maybe, they could just find some shorter players to interview. But where’s the fun in that?
