Combat Veteran Shares Heartwarming Story About Jason Kelce Reaching Out To Help After Bouts of PTSD

Grab the tissues.

Let's give credit where it's due … Jason Kelce seems like a tremendous human being off the field.

The Kelce brother, 36, decided to retire from the league after 13 seasons. As the Eagles center and his supporters reminisce on his career in Philly after his emotional retirement announcement, one lifelong Jason Kelce fan and retired combat veteran shared a heartwarming story about Kelce stepping up to help him during an all-time-low period.

As relayed by the Daily Mail, a man named Randy called into 94 WIP Sports Radio on Tuesday to share his favorite Jason Kelce memory.

Randy told a story about posting on Kelce's Facebook page in 2022 during a bout with COVID that triggered his PTSD.

Feeling helpless amid his trauma, Randy reached out to Kelce, begging for a bright spot during a season of darkness.

Jason Kelce noticed the call for help and responded like a true mensch, offering to listen to the wary veteran.

Listen to the man's incredible Jason Kelce story:

Randy shared, "I evidently posted something on Jason's Facebook page. And he called me up, he reached out and said 'Brother are you okay? You need somebody to talk to?''

Sure, the Taylor Swift stuff cast a bit of an unpopular light on the Kelce brothers (including, brother Travis) but when it comes to what matters most, Jason Kelce's got his eye on the right ideals.

"I'm a combat veteran and I've seen a lot and done a lot," Randy continued. 'I was going through some stuff, I got hit with COVID. And I never had any PTSD, nothing like that. I've always been able to handle that. Like kind of compartmentalize it and never really worried about it.

"Well I got COVID in November [20]22 and it triggered something in my head and I ended up being out of work [for] ten weeks. There's the wall, reliving kill shots, it was just horrible. The lowest time in my life."

It's no wonder Eagles fans and Kelce fans will miss seeing the 36-year-old play on Sundays. Though it won't be long before he's snatched up for a studio job.

"He's been my favorite player since his second year in the league," Randy said. "I've had his jersey. Just this one, it's great for him. But man."
