According to Yahoo’s Anwar Richardson, Texas’ QB Sam Ehlinger will skip his extra year of eligibility to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
Hearing Texas senior QB Sam Ehlinger will skip his extra year of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft. Waiting for Ehlinger to make an official announcement.

Days ago, Ehlinger led the Longhorns into a 55-23 crushing of Colorado in the Alamo Bowl. Ehlinger did go down with a shoulder injury, which caused him to miss the entire second half.
While Ehlinger is a senior, the NCAA ruled that this season won’t count towards players’ collegiate eligibility. Thus, Ehlinger had the option to return.
Ehlinger’s draft stock will be worth monitoring as he’s not expected to garner interest in the early rounds of the draft.
OutKick VIP members, would you want your team to take a chance on Ehlinger in the draft? Comment below:
And go in rd 5
Hmm. Not sure this makes a ton of sense. Not likely to garner any interest. What I’d do to go back to college….And (like a broken record), Texas looks pretty good going into next year.
😆
That settles it. I’m in, too. Ehlinger will get a higher grade from Kiper, but I think our draft stock is actually pretty similar.
The backup, backups to the backup, and the recruits are celebrating.
I’ve watched every one of his games, and I thank him for his leadership and performance for Longhorn Nation. That being said, I can’t imagine him being anything more than a Day 3 pick. Of course, a 3rd-string roster spot in the NFL pays better than college football (except in the SEC).
Thank heavens. This d bag is nauseating along with his shook coach.
