Sadly, Carli Lloyd Stood Alone Before The USWNT’s Olympic Bronze Medal Match

Carli Lloyd, the 39-year-old U.S. women’s national team forward who made her debut for the U.S. in 2005, finished what many think will be her last international match for Team USA by standing before today’s bronze medal match against Australia while her woke teammates, led by Victoria’s Secret model Megan Rapinoe, took a knee.

The blue checkmarks, the purple-haired Twitter idiots, the wokes, and every other lib-lib out there has dogged Lloyd for standing during the national anthem, especially when she did it back in January when the usual suspects were furious at the soccer veteran for choosing her own path and not the one forced upon the team by Rapinoe.

“I think the beauty of this team is that we stand behind each other, no matter what,” Lloyd said in January. “And you know, players decided to kneel, some players decided to stand, and at the end of the day, we have each other’s backs.”

“Ultimately, we’re here to support one another in any way that we can and that’s what’s amazing about this team.”

Today in Tokyo, Lloyd scored two goals against Australia, passed Abby Wambach for the most Olympic goals scored in U.S. women’s history, and took home a bronze medal.

  1. Good for Carli Lloyd. Local athlete who I always pulled for even though I’m not a fan of soccer. She’s the only one on that team with her head on straight. Fuck the rest of them, especially the little boy. Wished they had lost vs the Aussies.

  2. MARRY me Carli….Never thought I could find myself actually rooting against ANY U.S. team in ANY sport but these women have made it easy…Glad to see HER do well anyway…Now if only France could somehow knock off the Chinese team disguised as USA NBA Players my day would be complete
