Roger Goodell: 'Expect Full Stadiums' In The Fall

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has officially spoken on attendance at league stadiums in the fall and says the plan is to welcome back fans. How many fans? Roger's aiming high and hoping to make the COVID era a thing of the past.

"We want to see every one of our fans back," the commish said Tuesday. "We expect to have full stadium in the coming season."

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Goodell referenced the league hosting 1.2 million fans "safely" in 2020. Pelissero went on to note that Goodell had a "strikingly optimistic tone five months away from kickoff."

Reporters who listened in on the virtual league meeting say Goodell wasn't prompted to answer an attendance question. He brought it up.

Attendance for the NFL was down 90% due to limited capacity and no capacity in certain cities like Los Angeles and Las Vegas where new stadiums were opened without fans.

"Football is simply not the same without fans, and we expect to have full stadiums in the upcoming season," Goodell added.

As expected, it didn't take long for a blue checkmark to weigh in on full stadiums:
