Rick Pitino: Push College Hoops Season Back

Unsurprisingly, college basketball is having a bunch of the same issues with positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing bringing programs to a halt as we're seeing in college football. The season is slated to tip in a couple weeks, but it's all chaotic and we really don't know for sure who we're going to see play and when.

Rick Pitino, now the coach at Iona after a couple years away from college basketball following scandals at Louisville, is advocating to push the season back:






Jeff Goodman of Stadium noted that 20 programs are shut down right now:






On the surface, I actually agree with Pitino's idea, but I just don't have confidence we'd be in a better place in a few months after this delay.
