Report: Virginia Will Launch Legal Sports Betting Thursday

Videos by OutKick

Virginia sports fans, get excited. Legal sports betting goes live Thursday, according to FanDuel’s Erin Kate Dolan in a video posted on Twitter.

Virginia will become the 11th state to offer full in-person and mobile sports betting in the United States.

Virginia has long awaited the approval of online sports wagering after the state passed a bill to legalize sports betting in July 2020. Approximately 25 operators reportedly applied for sports betting licenses in the state, with up to 14 licenses awarded when approved Thursday.

If you’re looking for a solid sportsbook to get yourself started, our sports betting partner, the FanDuel Sportsbook, is the industry’s best. They offer an easy-to-use interface, competitive odds, and incredible promotions.

New users can get their first bet risk-free up to $1,000. That means Virginia customers should sign up now, so they can make their first deposit when it goes live Thursday. You can lock in this offer by clicking this link.

By meeting their goal of launching before the Super Bowl, Virginia sports fans have fantastic events to bet on in the coming weeks.

For this weekend’s NFL conference championship games, new users get their odds boosted to an incredible 25-to-1 (max bet $5). That means if you bet $5 on any of the remaining four teams to win their game outright on Sunday, you win $125 if they succeed. You can lock in this promo by clicking this link.

Interested in betting UFC 257? FanDuel is also offering a 25-to-1 boost for the McGregor vs. Poirier bout. Bet $5 on either fighter to win, and if they succeed, you win $125. You can lock this in by clicking this link.
