Remember The Blue Checkmark Brigade Dismissing COVID Originating In A Chinese Lab?

A year after the blue checkmark media brigade and its corporate partners decided President Donald Trump was a complete psycho for saying the COVID-19 virus was leaked from a Wuhan, China laboratory, that exact theory is now being reported by those same outlets who said it was a "fringe theory" and that the kooks were falling for it.

Even the blue checkmark god Dr. Anthony Fauci has changed his mind and now says the Wuhan lab theory needs to be investigated. The brigade had already sworn to collude against the president so there was no way possible that virus got out of a Chinese lab and then started killing people in that same Chinese city. No possible way.

Until 2021. Now it's possible.

CNN cites a U.S. intelligence report that found several Wuhan of Virology researchers became ill in November 2019 and ended up in a hospital. That report from the State Department has the blue checkmark brigade changing their tunes. "I've read it, it's a complete lie," the director of the Wuhan National Biosafety Lab told a Chinese outlet. "Those claims are groundless. The lab has not been aware of this situation, and I don't even know where such information came from."

Even former Clinton-era officials are saying the Wuhan lab theory needs to be analyzed. “Right now, the World Health Assembly is meeting, and the United States should be doing everything possible with our allies to demand a comprehensive investigation into Covid origins with full access to all the records, samples, and personnel in China and beyond,” Jamie Metzl, a Clinton national security official told, “The News with Shepard Smith.”

Now Google News is loaded with the usual suspects ready to look into the Wuhan lab. CNN's in. NBC News is ready. You know the Washington Post is ready for a CIA operation where they kidnap the scientist to map their DNA.

Freelance commentary writer Drew Holden went back and searched through 2020 Wuhan lab headlines to find the best of the best where the anti-Trump outlets made sure to discredit the possibility that the virus escaped that lab.

"I have a sneaking suspicion some people are gonna look real silly for writing off the idea that coronavirus could‘ve come from a high-tech virology lab, run by a secretive autocratic regime, overseen by a bat expert studying coronaviruses, in the city where cases first appeared," Holden wrote on April 21, 2020.

China was taken at their word that the virus didn't come out of that lab. CNN made sure to run headlines saying so. CNN's Chris Cillizza went as far as highlighting a network fact-checker who said, "I think at this point you can draw a line through it and say it didn't happen" in response to Senator Tom Cotton's suggestion that the virus came from a lab.

MSNBC dork Chris Hayes had this to say about the Wuhan lab theory: "The Trump administration is so desperately grasping at straws, trying to find someone to blame, they don't even seem to understand what they themselves are saying," Hayes said at the time.

Yet here we are a year later, and it's time to investigate the Wuhan lab. One side theorized the virus escaped the lab. The other side said that was a kooky conspiracy theory and the Chinese Communist Party agreed.

Now here we are.
