Coming off a red-hot Sunday, the injury advantages led us to a 6-1 Sunday against the spread. The only “miss” was the LAC vs. KC over due to the final missed extra point, giving us a total of 54 when we needed over 54.5. The sides were 6-0 and that included an easy upset win against the injured Steelers, the Lions getting 7.5 and almost winning outright, the Broncos easily covering 10.5 as well as the Packers not needing the 3 points.
Our official total for the season is now 10-5. We will not count the two correct “honorable mention” picks of the Browns and Titans, so we only add 4-1 to this running tally for the season. Our goal is to equal or beat last season’s 50-30-5 record.
Let’s see if we can keep the winning ways going using our Field View and SIC score.
SIC Score is our proprietary numerical injury grading system that incorporates the health of every NFL team and individual players to give sports bettors, DFS players and fantasy owners an edge each week during the season. While it purposely doesn’t take into account coaching, schemes or matchups, SIC Scores give an accurate assessment of team/player overall health heading into a game.
PHILADELPHIA +3 @ DALLAS
In this NFC East divisional matchup, the Eagles are the healthier side by a medium margin of 8.9 points. As you can see on the Field View above, the Cowboys’ defense has a 21.7 point SIC score disadvantage, which could mean they’re vulnerable.
Three of four starting Dallas defensive linemen, including top pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence, are out, and the fourth, Randy Gregory, is coming off a COVID stint. Keanu Neal is out against the Eagles and possibly next week against the Panthers after testing positive for COVID, forcing Jaylon Smith, who never fully recovered from his devastating knee and nerve injury, to start. The only healthy spots for the Cowboys’ defense are the cornerbacks.
Philadelphia should be poised to run the ball, given their over-30 point SIC score health advantage against the Dallas run defense. The Cowboys should be able to have some modest run game success with a healthier offensive line and the Eagles without Brandon Graham and Rodney McLeod.
