ProFootball Doc: Health Mismatch In Monday Night Football, Ravens Vs. Raiders

Let's try to continue Sunday's great 5-0 start  against the spread using injury analysis to take advantage of line inequities. Seattle won and covered easily. Carolina prevailed, but missed opportunities kept the Jets close. Detroit seemed overmatched but rallied to backdoor cover, given the +8.5. Denver won easily over the Giants, and the Rams closed out the Bears by 20 points Sunday night.

The Monday night game tonight provides a SIC score (health grade) actionable mismatch as well.

LVR +4.5 (vs BAL)

The Raiders open the season at home, they get to play in front of fans in their new stadium for the first time, and they get points. To top it off, they are clearly the healthier side, with a 17.1 point SIC score advantage.

The Ravens lost their three top running backs (J.K. Dobbins - ACL, Gus Edwards - ACL, Justice Hill - Achilles) and are without wide receiver Rashod Bateman due to core muscle surgery. Defensively, star cornerback Marcus Peters (ACL) is out for the season, and Derek Wolfe and Jimmy Smith also have health issues as well. (Click on the interactive Field View above to see details).

The Raiders are all "green" and relatively healthy on the Field View on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Points, home field and health have us favoring the Silver and Black to finish Week 1. Go to the free www.profootballdoc.com for all the detailed analysis and in-game updates.
