Outkick Bets: Loading Up On Saturday's Board
I am supercharged for this week. I just won Thursday’s favorite play of Troy over 51.5 (even as that total kept dropping) and I’m smelling a heater this weekend. It’s a good slate so let’s pad that bankroll.
Pittsburgh -9.5 vs. Miami (-108)
I think I waited a little long to get into the Pittsburgh spread action. Believe it or not, it was their 10-point victory (and cover) against Clemson last week that started making me a believer. I wanted to see them overcome a mental and physical hurdle like Clemson and they absolutely did that. I really like how they’ve proven to be able to win in multiple ways and I think that’s what will work for them here. Miami is a week-to-week mess that I cannot in good faith spend another dollar on. Panthers for the double-digit win.
Purdue @ Nebraska, UNDER 53 (-110)
Purdue is 6-1 to the UNDER. It’s still hard to get used to that. It’s also hard to believe that they are looking at their most prolific offensive opponent since Week 1 against Oregon State. By the by, Nebraska is 50th in scoring. However, Nebraska quietly has the 12th most yards per game in the country and are 4-3-1 on the OVER. Nebraska is also coming off 3 straight overs but this will be the highest total they faced since September 25th's total of 55 against Michigan State (UNDER in OT). When in the Big Ten, especially this season, live with under and die with the under and far more often, you are living.
Wyoming @ San Jose State, UNDER 40.5 (-104)
Did someone say UNDERS? Look at these two beautiful ugly offensive teams! Wyoming is 107th in scoring and 117th in yards gained per game. It probably wouldn’t shock you to know that they are 5-2 to the UNDER. San Jose State is 105th in total yards and a mesmerizing 113th in scoring. Folks, this is a game only it’s momma could love and you and I are gonna love it when we profit off this madness.
Kentucky -1.5 (-106) @ Mississippi State
What's the phrase you folks like? Good teams win, great teams cover? Hop aboard the Wildcat train then. It seems people have forgotten that Kentucky is actually really good. Kentucky is a little behind the 8-ball in the race to rep the East in the SEC Championship, but have we forgotten they are 6-1? Have we forgotten they are also 6-1 ATS? The only cover they didn't manage was an FCS battle before their most important SEC game to-date. Mississippi State will throw the ball a billion times but they’ve spent several games inside the conference struggling to score. It’s Big Blue Nation for me.
Charlotte @ Western Kentucky, UNDER 73.5 (-112)
Y’all been with me for a couple months and know this about me: I look for the biggest number on the board and see why I should hit that UNDER! Well, here we are again. Charlotte is 5-2 to the UNDERS this season. Now Western Kentucky s WKU 5-2 to the OVER, but they’ve also gone under in two straight. This is EASILY the highest total for Charlotte and just the second highest for the Hilltoppers in 2021. We are killing the BIG TOTAL/UNDER bet so far, I won’t be stopping now. UNDER BABAY!
