Olympic Ski Jumper Juliane Seyfarth Poses For Playboy Germany

Imagine living in a world where female athletes still felt empowered posing for Playboy instead of the ESPN skin issue that's a slap in the face to old school Playboy fans who are used to flipping through their vintage "Girls of the SEC" issues. Now imagine living in Germany, where ski jumper Juliane Seyfarth is on the cover of Playboy Germany's March edition.

Ms. Seyfarth, 30, who competed in the 2018 Olympics, has been a professional ski jumper since 2012. She has four career World Cup ski jumping wins, 13 podiums and finished 3rd overall during the 2018-19 World Cup season. She says posing for Playboy was her chance to "raise awareness for the sport."

The German ski jumper joins a list of athletes who have posed for the magazine. Some of the more famous names to do it include track & field's Amy Acuff, swimmer Amanda Beard, Gabrielle Reese, canoe sprinter Nicole Reinhardt, ice dancer Pasha Grishuk, wrestler Torrie Wilson, skater Katarina Witt and ESPN morning workout guru Kiana Tom.

“It was a great adventure and I am very happy and thankful for this time and our great pictures. A lot of love to everyone involved, getting to know each other and working with you is worth gold," Seyfarth wrote on Instagram.

Will we now see a huge flood of athletes rushing back in to pose for Playboy? That's highly unlikely since the magazine is now a complete afterthought in the U.S. We're talking about the U.S. version of a magazine that decided in 2015 to drop nudity only to bring it back in 2017. How whacked out is the U.S. version? I opened Playboy.com for this post, and you'll never guess who greeted me. JEMELE HILL. Holy hell!

Leave the art to Playboy Germany. Playboy U.S. is dead.
