Oklahoma Governor Fires Back, Grills Meat Under PETA Billboard

There were two crazy meat-offs this week. One was in suburban Cleveland where a woman was arrested for coldcocking another woman with a 10-pound meat 'log,' and then there was an old-fashioned cookout conducted by Oklahoma Republican Governor Kevin Stitt, who sent a clear message to PETA.

The animal rights group had put up a billboard in Oklahoma City ripping Stitt for having the audacity to have a Meat Week after Colorado Governor Jared Polis declared March 20 "Meat Out Day" in honor of Colorado's vegetarians. PETA's billboard reads, "Oklahoma, Home of Meathead Gov. Kevin Stitt!"

Ooooooo, BURN!

It's not one of the more aggressive billboards you're ever going to see, and it's actually not insulting. Stitt did the right thing here and fired up a grill and cooked up some burgers, steaks, and hotdogs for his fellow meatheads.

“We’re gonna stand by our agriculture industry and our personal freedoms,” Stitt told reporters who gathered at his grill. “And the freedom to go vegan if you want or the freedom to eat hamburgers if you want.”

You know, that just might be the best thing I've heard all day. If you want to crush some tofu wings, go for it. If you want to crush BBQ wings, do it up. Want to wear a mask into the grocery store because you think COVID is going to kill you even though you got the vaccine? Do it up. I'm going to crush some meat, go on with my life and mind my own business.

Stitt, make it a double cheeseburger!
