Now That Toronto Is On The Brink Of Playoffs, Capacity Is Expanded For Home Games

The Toronto Blue Jays announced that Rogers Centre in Ontario is opening up to 30,000 fans as October nears, and the team inches its way closer to a playoff berth.

Announced via the team's official Twitter account, the Blue Jays are welcoming fans to attend its final stretch of regular season games, with hopes that the home field advantage will boost the Vlad, Jr.-led ball club to a postseason appearance.

The venue will still demand proof of vaccination for entry (applicable to attendees above the age of 12) and for masks to be worn at all times. Increase in capacity will double from the originally mandated 15,000-seat restriction on Rogers Centre.

“We’ve done very well in Ontario, we have been stable over the past several weeks, as we move indoors, we have the added benefit that the majority of individuals have been vaccinated,” commented Dr. Kieran Moore, Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario.

“Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Ontarians adhering to public health measures and going out to get vaccinated, some of our key public health and health care indicators are currently stable,” added Dr. Moore,
