NHL Down To Season-Low Eight Players On COVID List

At this rate, the NHL may soon be able to put COVID-19 fears on ice.

After all, as of Tuesday night, the league was down to a season-low eight players on its healthy and safety protocol list. Five of those eight are members of the Philadelphia Flyers.

But eight overall is a massive improvement from the 59 players the NHL had skating on the COVID list just 11 days ago. Considering there are more than 700 players in the NHL, 59 isn't such a bad number. Eight is a remarkable number.

The biggest winners are the Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens. Neither team has placed a single player on the list.

"The St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs each have had a player added to the COVID-19 list over the past few days, bringing the total number of players who have spent at least one day on it to 126," the Washington Times noted.
