Zach Wilson's First Day Of Work Didn't Go Well, But It's Day One

Zach Wilson is officially on the New York Jets payroll ($22.9 million signing bonus) and day one on the job for the 21-year-old didn't go very well. It was such a bad first day as a salaried employee that the New York media didn't have to concoct some crazy storyline. Wilson played so bad that the quarterback even agreed with the local writers.

“Everyday is going to have something frustrating,” Wilson said after practice. “But it’s going to be a process.”

In other words, it was bad. Now let's get further analysis from the New York media who are now covering yet another quarterback, the 14th quarterback drafted by the franchise since 2000.

"Wilson had inaccurate throws that sailed high and one resulted in an interception by Marcus Maye. At times, the rookie was hesitant because he wasn’t reading the defense quickly. His timing wasn’t good with his receivers and there were moments when he held the ball too long that resulted in sacks," New York Daily News Jets reporter DJ Bien-Aime wrote in his camp report.
