Trooper: Drew Lock's Athletic Ability May Have Saved Him During Lug Nut & Flying Tire Incident
Trooper Ben of the Kansas Highway Patrol says Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock did exactly what state police want out of a driver when a tire goes flying and a lug nut crashes into a driver's windshield while driving across the state.
"He was alert," Trooper Ben said of Lock avoiding a flying tire Wednesday while driving across Kansas. "He was quick to react and start taking the actions needed to keep himself and others safe. Braking, slowing, moving away...to the right...all of the things that are good to keep himself safe on the roadway as well as probably on the field."
The KHP reports that a car going in the opposite direction on I-70 lost a tire and it flew in front of Lock's car along with a lug nut that was embedded in Lock's windshield. Lock's car had to be towed, but everything is fine according to Trooper Ben.
