Tom Brady Tells Buccaneers Teammate There's No Crying Until Job Is Done

There's no crying in football. So says Tom Brady, who supposedly chastised a teammate for doing so after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC Championship game.

At least that's the story from Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David, who told the tale during an appearance on the CBS Sports podcast All Things Covered.

“When I realized that it was real, when I realized it was like all the other stuff doesn’t really matter unless it’s the Super Bowl was like after we won the NFC Championship,” David said. “You know me, I was all happy and sh-t. It was my first. I’m geeked up. Then, like, I guess somebody was crying. And I guess, like, I heard , just like, 'What the f--k you crying for? We not done yet.'”

David added he wasn't sure who was crying, though he did mention Chris Goodwin and Jaydon Mickens as possibilities. David also said he was sure to wipe away his own tear before Brady caught him the act.

Brady is an old pro at this. He has appeared in nine Super Bowls and won six of them. Kickoff for Super Bowl LV between the Buccaneers and defending champion Kansas City Chiefs is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST. If Brady gets another victory, well, then maybe tears will be allowed to flow then. But clearly, not a minute before.
