Tom Brady Invited Bucs' New QB Kyle Trask To Go Out and Throw With Him
While it may seem like Tom Brady may play forever, even he probably knows that's not the case.
So it's really not a big surprise that Brady sent an invite to toss a football to Buccaneers newbie Kyle Trask, the second-round draft pick out of Florida.
“Yeah, he actually did, he reached out to me a couple days after the draft and you know, he was just making sure, or checking in on when I get into town so we can get together and maybe do some throwing and things like that,” Trask said on NFL Network. “It meant a lot to me.”
The Buccaneers are coming off a Super Bowl, and Brady generally leads the charge when it comes to putting guys in a winning mindset. But he apparently is not alone when it comes to helping Trask feel like a welcome addition to the team.
“Not only Tom, but a couple of other guys have reached out, so you can definitely tell they have a great culture and a great group of people in this building and I can’t wait to get started," Trask said.
Of course, Brady is still in town, so Trask knows the odds of seeing the field in Year One are less-than-favorable.
From the sounds of things, Trask is OK with that.
“Yeah, I mean first and foremost, I just want to do anything I can to help the team and obviously the goal is going to be to win another Super Bowl,’’ he said. “And that’s going to be my main focus and whatever I can do at the end of the day to kind of lead the team in the right direction, I’ll be willing to do that.”
