Titans Fans Gang Tackle Adam Schefter After News Of Derrick Henry's Return

There was a time, and not long ago, when ESPN insider Adam Schefter implied that Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry would miss the rest of the season.

Henry, 28, underwent surgery on foot fracture suffered in the Week 8 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He was removed from the inactive list Wednesday, as relayed by OutKick's Nick Geddes.

Anyway, in the weeks that followed the injury, Schefter repeatedly made it sound as though the Titans would have to march on without Henry.

Granted, reporters are wrong all the time. Sometimes, it's as simple as their trusted inside sources being wrong. But when you're a big name like Schefter, who shares the same agency as may of the players and coaches, you're going to take some heat.

"Lots of Titans fans are clapping today," Twitter user @TheRealPres10 wrote. "Schefty is the same guy that says the Music City Miracle was a forward pass so ..."

Another user, @JogleReport, was more succinct. "But I thought he was done for the year Adam," he wrote.

Schefter, of course, wasn't alone. As Geddes noted, multiple reports suggested Henry would be out 6-10 weeks. That meant he would be lucky to play in the opening playoff game. But Henry has clearly made a quick recovery -- offering a major stiff-arm to the so-called insiders.

Despite the time off, Henry still is sixth in the NFL with 937 yards, not to mention 10 touchdowns. The Titans (11-5) were already pretty good. With Henry, they're a true blue Super Bowl contender. They close the regular season Sunday against the lowly Houston Texans (4-12).

Bottom line: Henry is back at practice, he is expected to be available for the playoffs, and Schefter's sources were apparently wrong about the timeline. That's all happy Titans fans need to have a little fun at Schefter's expense.
