The Latest On Steelers All-Pro Linebacker T.J. Watt

Steeler fans continue to refresh their social media to see the very latest news about outside linebacker T.J. Watt, who still hasn't inked a contract renewal.

Fans are going to need to keep on waiting. Even though Watt has done individual drills, he's not done anything with the team throughout the summer.

On Tuesday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he's confident that Watt will be on the field and ready to go for Sunday's 1pm affair with the Buffalo Bills and that he will be a full participant during Wednesday's practice.

Reports say that Watt is looking for a NFL record $28 million per year on a new deal, but that the Steelers don't want to guarantee money past the first year of the contract.

"I remain optimistic something is going to get done on a deal perspective," Tomlin said of the situation with Watt.

"I'm proceeding with the assumption he's going to work tomorrow and he gets to add his talents to that collection."

If Watt can't go for one reason or another, the team will probably turn to offseason pickup Melvin Gordon, who could get snaps at the team's practice during the week if Watt isn't on hand.
