The Caesars Superdome Roof Catches Fire

Flames and smoke could be seen coming out of the roof of the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans Tuesday afternoon. Fox 8 reports the cause of the fire is unknown, but the TV station reports that cleaning and renovations to the roof had resumed after being interrupted by Hurricane Ida in late August.

At least one person has been injured in the Superdome fire, the station reported.

Reporter Jeff Duncan said the fire appears to have started where workers were using a high-powered pressure washer. A stadium official told Duncan that it appears the fire occurred in the "gutter tub" of the roof. The stadium official added that the fire didn't threaten the integrity of the building.
